Gunnar attended Providence High School's Cinema Arts Focus Program in Burbank, CA. He is an avid reader absorbing as much as he can about history, art, philosophy, and filmmaking. He loves photography and plays the guitar and drums in the band "Missing Wiba."
I made "Sterling" in an attempt to examine how guilt can tear down even the seemingly strongest figures. Fear is often the greatest wall people can build against themselves, and seeing the long-term consequences of unresolved guilt creates a conflicted character who, bearing deeply human feelings, must react to his starkly inhuman actions. The discord between the two is precisely the emotion I aimed to capture in making "Sterling". I am beyond grateful to have had a cast and crew who matched my passion about this project and truly gave all of themselves to the storyβthis film would not be what it is without their extensive support and collaboration.
