STEPHEN KARNAGHAN
As a writer I am trying to accommodate the new reader, the reader dashing to their next appointment, tablet in hand. My work is mostly short with only the basic plot remaining. Several stories have been published with one winning an award.
In Australia I received a grant to write a novel, the last such award granted in Australia. The following is brief outline of my accomplishments.
SHORT STORIES
• February 2016 – ‘The Poet’ winning short story – Novel Writing Festival (internet organisation).
• August 2016 – ‘Day of Why’ Official winner 2016 1 page Short Story Contest – Wildsound.
• September 2016 – ‘The Walker’ winning short story – Wildsound.
POETRY
• May 2015 – ‘How the Hat’ published – Wildsound.
• March 2016 – ‘Be Three’ published – Wildsound.
• Various poems published in Literature Magazines ‘Poetry and Paint’ and ‘Ziriuz’.
• Newtown Festival – Performance of poem ‘When What’.
PLAY
• February 1980 – ‘Family Treat’ performed by Griffin Theatre Company Sydney Australia
NOVEL
• 1980 – Received New Writer’s Fellowship Grant to write novel.
• January 2017 – ‘The Footstool Incident’ extract published Wildsound.
