Steady
Life is clumsy. We rarely feel grace throughout life’s ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys of its seasons. Sometimes it’s within rare moments of stillness and silence that do occasionally exist that we must lean on those around us.
In the piece of music and its companion poem, Clair De Lune, the French title meaning “moonlight”, takes us through a journey of introspection of the soul and life during all of its phases. In my own interpretation, the journey is a clumsy dance of life, but it also must have a peaceful balance, and with the chaos, we also need those who stabilize us.
We are consistently putting on a mask and acting like everything is ok for those around us, especially when life becomes challenging. When can we release that mask? When can we let that go and be ourselves with those we trust - no matter the phase of our life? What grace accompanies your clumsy dance of life?

Creating Dance Film and ScreenDance are what drive me. After graduating Spring of 2020 from Florida Southern College, Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography, and a BA in Communications: Film Studies focus, entering into the world of film and dance have been my dream I aim to achieve and live in forever. I hope to create artistic content that questions, inspires, maintains subjectivity, and brings discussion amongst audiences on many topics. From socio-political based subject matter, to mental & physical health, to what art is and how it can be interpreted. All of these and more are aspects of film I aim to explore, along with experimenting with in the movement medium. To combine the two and give the audience a way to be apart of the dance experience through the light of the lens, is a phenomena I hope to allow every and any viewer time and time again.
This project is very near and dear to my heart. It is quite honestly the very first project that I have produced entirely on my own. It is truly my baby and I am extremely proud and excited to begin its festival journey, and hear feedback on how I can improve myself as an artist and a creator. It's always daunting to put yourself out there, but in all reality - that is what this work is about - taking off the mask and allowing yourself to truly be seen. I feel that I've grown a lot in recent years and I look forward to seeing my artistry grow as well within and after this work is released.
