We live in a society where are still many obstacles for members of the LGTB community to have children.
SPERM FRIENDS highlights this issue from a satirical point of view, questioning the paternity and maternity prejudices of the patriarchal culture in which we live and envisioning a new family prototype, more in tune with current times.
It is a tragicomedy of errors that builds a playful and extravagant universe, mainly through interior scenes, with ordinary characters that are recognizable in our daily lives, but who are immersed in an unusual and marvellous event, almost a caricature.
It is an aesthetic fusion: a collage that ensnares characters in a comedy of manners and picturesque surroundings bordering on the kitsch, where each frame becomes a visually beautiful experience.
The camera follows these beings who are seeking another but can’t find them, who talk a great deal but can’t understand the other, who pretend to be happy but are full of fear.
The staging has a circus-like atmosphere, making one want to discover what is going to happen next; it also acts as a point at issue for the needed debate as to what our future society will look like.
