Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Adam Smith graduated from Napier University with a BA (Hons) Degree in Television in 2019. It was there he completed a 20 minute short documentary about the women behind Apollo 11 and STEM. Since graduating, the film has gained success with local newspapers, science festivals and radio stations.
Smith has worked as a production runner for the BBC, ITV and indie production companies on a freelance basis since 2016. Since directing and co-producing 'Space Queens', he has devoted his career to documentary filmmaking, particularly around feminist film and short form content with BBC 'The Social'.
They said this film would never happen, but they also said man would never land on the moon! Ha! Never listen to your lecturers, they don't always know best, and never let someone discourage you because of your gender, race, sexual orientation or economic status. I know if I did, I wouldn't be giving this statement!
