Sophie Webb began her career as an actress in Australia. After graduating with a Bachelor of Creative Arts in Performance Studies, she toured with several national theatre productions and landed a series regular role in the popular television crime drama, Underbelly. She also created and starred in her own one woman show The Séance which toured Australia and received rave reviews.
In 2013 Sophie relocated to Los Angeles and shifted her focus from acting to directing and creating original content. Her short film based on the song Gimme All Your Love, by Alabama Shakes was personally selected by the band as a finalist in their online video contest. Most recently, Sophie wrote, directed and starred in the original pilot Same Sex, which was selected for the 2017 Independent Filmmaker Projects’ Screen Forward Labs in Brooklyn, New York.
Sophie has worked in the production department on many independent films and was also an Executive Producers Assistant on two Netflix series; Orange is the New Black and GLOW. She recently completed a directors attachment shadowing showrunner and director Trent O'Donnell on Season 3 of the CBS All Access series No Activity.
She currently works with the Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network, teaching creative writing and storytelling workshops to incarcerated teens serving their sentences in Los Angeles detention centers and once they come out on parole.
