Director Biography - Kimel Fryer

Kimel Fryer's origins start in the West Tennessee area although she's been based from the Greater Memphis Metro area since she was a child. She is a multi-hyphenate director-writer-producer who loves to tell unconventional stories. She has worked across several genres; however, her favorite genre to focus on is horror. Currently, she is finalizing her thriller short "Come to Jesus Meeting" and is a finalist in the Make Your Feature Competition for her script in development titled, "Paying Homage."

Director Statement

With my short "Something's Off," this is my first short film so I wanted to give a nod to Alfred Hitchcock's first film which also incorporated a serial killer among a love story. I also wanted the audience to think about red flags and accountability when dating and the consequences of what may happen when you fail to consider them.
