Something Worse
A woman navigates the unstable space between memory and invention as she tries to hold on to the presence of someone she can no longer confirm ever existed. As fragments of the past resurface and distort, what remains is not a person, but a sensation, persistent, intangible, and impossible to fully grasp.

Something Worse is not a story about a relationship that ended; it is an exploration of the terrifying space left behind when the memory of that relationship begins to fail. It is a film about grief, but also about the instability of our own past. Inspired by a poignant poem by my dear friend Gastaldi, this film navigates the boundary between what we remember and what we might be inventing to cope with a profound loss.
In Something Worse, this failure of memory is externalized: the male figure is entirely represented by an empty, floating beige suit. He has presence, but no solidity. He is a ghost defined only by the space he used to occupy.
Ultimately, Something Worse is a visual and sensory poem about acceptance of the intangible. It suggests that perhaps the cruelest part of loss is not the absence itself, but the lingering sensation of something that passed through us quietly, irreversibly, and yet, refuses to leave.
