Set in a rapidly changing world, "Snow Bear" tells the story of a polar bear in an unforgiving environment on his quest to find a friend.

This independently produced 2D hand drawn film was painstakingly created entirely by Aaron Blaise over 3 years. With Aaron's lifelong dedication to studying, drawing, and animating animals, the adventure is infused with humor, relatability, and emotional depth in the tradition of classic animated films.

Director Biography - Aaron Blaise

For 21 years Aaron was with Walt Disney Feature Animation where he helped to create some of the greatest animated films ever made. During that time he worked as an animator or supervising animator on โ€œThe Rescuers Down Underโ€, โ€œBeauty and the Beastโ€, โ€œAladdinโ€, โ€œThe Lion Kingโ€, โ€œPocahontasโ€ and โ€œMulanโ€.

In 2003 he was co-director of โ€œBrother Bearโ€ for which he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.

After โ€œBrother Bearโ€ he helped to develop several projects but ultimately left Disney to pursue an opportunity back home in Florida. Aaron recently served as a 2D Animation Supervisor and Character Designer for the โ€œThe Bear and the Hareโ€ an advertisement loved by millions around the world.

He was recently named as the 2025 recipient of the ๐‘พ๐’Š๐’๐’”๐’๐’“ ๐‘ด๐’„๐‘ช๐’‚๐’š ๐‘ณ๐’Š๐’‡๐’†๐’•๐’Š๐’Ž๐’† ๐‘จ๐’„๐’‰๐’Š๐’†๐’—๐’†๐’Ž๐’†๐’๐’• ๐‘จ๐’˜๐’‚๐’“๐’… in animation by ASIFA-Hollywood and was presented the award at the 2025 Annie Awards.

Director Statement

I created this film out of my studio working every day on it for over three years. It is my hope that the audience experiences a full suite of emotions and that in the end I've done my part to put some beauty into the world.
