Born and raised in Greater Manchester, Thomas Jackson comes from a working-class background. Struggling with dyslexia through education, he found comfort in exploring his creativity, which soon blossomed into a love for film and storytelling.
Using his unique viewpoint and passion, Thomas shares imaginative and absurd stories through Prickle Productions, founded in 2023 with Producer Ashley Birks and DOP Martina Majcen.
As a filmmaker drawn to exploring male characters shaped by toxic notions of masculinity and the impact this has on their behaviour toward others, I was immediately drawn to Snare. Isobel’s story resonated deeply with me. As a victim myself, I saw in it a powerful “take back the night” narrative, one that confronts fear, reclaims agency, and exposes the danger people face every day.
Collaborating with the team, we worked hard to weave real-life experiences into the fabric of the film. Our goal was to shine a light on what we see as a modern-day monster and to explore the strength it takes to confront and overcome them.
