Director Statement

With SKIN I wanted to convey the idea of love being hopeless yet beautiful, and ask the question - If you knew it was going to end would you still try?
In my personal experiences of love and its wake, I have come to find that love is both forever and temporary... When things come to an end I feel content, I think we can appreciate the beautiful times spent together and respectfully let things end in peace.
I'm a sucker for love...
After hearing Sam Phay's new song I knew we had to collaborate on it, the song had so much emotion and movement I could visualize it very clearly. I knew I wanted an element of dance so after casting the talent the four of us sat in a rehearsal space and choreographed this movement to represent the pushes and pulls of a new relationship. In the final dance, we made it disrupted, as if Wada (lead) was ruining his own dance moves and in turn getting more and more frustrated with himself.

I put a lot of myself in this project, it was a truly magical experience... To think we shot it all in one day haunts me!
