Most 9/11 stories don't have happy endings. But Sam's does. Because she fights for her happy ending, for her dogs and kid and husband and house, for her 'normal' life every day. Despite hearing loss, insomia, PTSD and respiratory illness, Samantha Silverman doesn't let her experience surviving 9/11 define her life. What struck me most when I met her was the transformation to therapist, to helping other overcome their trauma. On the 25 year anniversary of the attacks, this story feels more prescient than ever.
