Sergey was born on 16th of November, 1998. As an aspiring director and writer, he prefers themes of human loneliness and the relationship of opposites. The thematic focus of his films not only resonates with audience demands, but also highlights important social issues. He uses fantastic and phantasmagoric elements in his films and music videos. In his works, the director pays great attention to symbolism, especially the meaning of color in the mood of the scene and the display of the image of the characters in the film. In early 2023, he was awarded first place in the Best Music Video category at the New Harvest Festival.
Nowadays, the topic of psychological disorders is becoming more and more publicized in society. However, there is still some stigma attached to depression. With our film, we wanted to demystify the experience of this disease, making it more accessible to viewers who may have never encountered it in their lives. By placing the main character in the space of a coffin, we want to shed light on the nature of depression, which fetters a person both externally and internally. The wooden box in which the hero is placed limits him not so much physically as mentally. In the climax, we show the irreversible consequences of the disease if it is not treated.
Moreover, the increasing prevalence of mental health discussions within film underscores the importance of addressing Depression through cinematic storytelling. As society becomes more aware of psychological well-being, these films contribute to broader dialogues about life satisfaction and self-actualization. In conclusion, films exploring depression are not merely entertainment; they are vital cultural texts that provoke critical discourse on how individuals navigate their aspirations amidst societal pressures.
