Silent Birth

Amir, filled with despair and a bleak outlook on life and human existence, is surprised by his friends on his birthday. That night, Amir and his close friend Parsa—who has an optimistic and hopeful view of life—talk about the chance of birth, life, and death. Since death is always ready to strike like prey at the most unexpected moment, Parsa suddenly suffers an electric shock in an accident and loses his life.

Perhaps birth and death cannot always be explained by logic; sometimes, chance alone is the determining factor.

Director Biography - Fahime Heydari

Fahimeh Heidari, born on July 29, 1983, has always been passionate about art. In high school, however, she entered the mathematics and physics track upon her school counselor’s advice. After receiving her diploma, lacking interest in mathematics, she left her studies and chose the path of marriage. Yet her love for cinema never faded—she watched films attentively, followed film magazines, and nurtured the dream of becoming a filmmaker.

In 2014, despite being a mother of two, she decided to take her dreams seriously. She enrolled in university, dedicating herself to the study of cinema and exploring the works of various directors. The journey was filled with challenges but also with passion and excitement. In 2019, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in film directing. During her studies, she made several short student films, but Silent Birth marked her first professional work and the true beginning of the path she wholeheartedly loves.

She is currently active in cinema as an assistant director and script supervisor, and also works in theater.

Director Statement

My love for cinema began in childhood through watching classic films, and with studying this field and gaining a deeper familiarity with European art cinema, my passion for this art grew even stronger.

My main interest lies in directing and screenwriting, and through making films, experimenting, and learning from trial and error, I strive to enter the professional world of cinema. I am crazy about cinema and believe that every film can serve as a bridge between art and deep thought.
