Sierra Nevada

Miguel and Sofia, a couple on the brink of emotional collapse, embark on a tense road trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains in a desperate attempt to reconnect. As the physical distance from their home grows, so do the raw emotions they've buried for years. Through moments of silence, confrontation, and painful revelations, they are forced to confront their grief, guilt, and the fractures in their relationship.

Set against the vast and isolating landscapes of Portugal and Spain, "Sierra Nevada" is an intimate exploration of love, loss, and the fragile hope of healing.

Writer Biography - Jonathas Davi Gesteira

I am a Brazilian screenwriter currently based in Lisbon. With a background in Literature from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), I explore cinematic storytelling with a strong foundation in narrative and language. My scripts blend humor and drama to engage with social themes and contemporary issues.
Many of the stories I work on revolve around characters experiencing cultural shifts and personal transformations, often drawing from diverse perspectives and real-life observations. From mockumentaries to intense dramas, the focus is on creating authentic dialogue and dynamic storytelling.
Inspired by travel and cultural exchanges, my approach aims to connect with universal themes while maintaining a distinctly Brazilian perspective. The goal is to craft narratives that balance social critique with engaging character development.
