Director Biography - Hesam Dehghani

Hesam Dehghani is an award-winning independent film director from Iran. He studied computer engineering and attended filmmaking courses in Iran and abroad.

In the past couple of years, he has worked as a film director and producer in many successful film projects. Also, he has cooperated in prestigious international film projects such as the Guinness World Record holder feature film TRAIN STATION (2016).

Director Statement

TRAUMA is a short film about one of the darkest stories we hear almost every day: Rape. No matter where we live, it's an everyday violence, affecting close to a billion girls and women over their lifetimes. Based on an statistics released by the UN, one rape happens every 120 seconds somewhere in the world.

Inspired by true events happened in the city I live (Tehran), TRAUMA shows how such event changes the victim's personality, forever.
