Emran Gado is a Director, Author and Actor. he was raised and living in Damietta town in the North of Egypt. studied 3 years in law school at Mansoura University, then he dropped the studying. participated in a screenplay workshop in Alexandria with the screenwriter Azza Shalaby. He made his first film" Shall I?'' in 2019

Director Statement

This short film is made to shed the light on a young person at my northern small town, throughout the centric current affairs in art and economics. It unfolds a story of a loner who is dabbled in uncertainty and future ambiguity, at a crossroads does not know where to go. He knows well, if he is to seek the betterment of his current state of affairs, he must step over his ideals and hence losing himself, or else …

An "anecdote" about that crucial moment in his life; an existential crisis expressed in terms of scarcity of resources, sexual frustration, social iniquity, unemployment and absence of perspective, a subtle blend of tragic chronicles in simple poetic meditative self-expression frame presenting "Shall I?".

Me and my friends spared no efforts in all stages of film processing and after a huge amount of hardship; it might be my first successful attempt to make it to light. Hope whoever watches this film to open himself to the untold controversial story of our protagonist in simple poetic shape.
