Director Statement

Shade is inspired by what it feels like to chase a dream and still feel invisible. Down here, it’s easy to get caught up in who’s trending or who’s shining the brightest. But for some of us, it’s never been about that. It’s about creating something honest, that actually means something, even if nobody’s watching.

I made this film for the ones building in silence, the ones that are still learning, still pushing, and still believing that what they do matters.
Miami inspired it, but it’s bigger than that. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt overlooked, but kept going anyway.
