Seven

Michelle is trapped in a relationship that is becoming increasingly more manipulative and abusive. Yet she struggles to "just leave" Francois. After all, according to statistics it takes a woman an average of seven attempts to leave an abusive relationship. Instead, Michelle is drawn deeper into the relationship, because she continues to believe that Francois will change. Finally, they visit a psychologist to work on their relationship. However, it is here that Michelle is finally forced to face the truth when the psychologist asks her: “What is yóúr seven?”

Director Biography - Ingrid Paulus

Ingrid Paulus graduated in 1999 from the Tshwane University, South Africa, with a National Diploma in drama. She started her acting career in 2000 landing a role in the Afrikaans drama series Die Netwerk (Danie Odendaal productions) and Sterk Skemer (produced and co-produced by Dalene Kotzé, Johan Bernard and Paul C Venter). Between 2000-2023, Ingrid portrayed "Vanessa Meintjies" on the iconic award winning Afrikaans soap 7de Laan, where she also received training and mentorship from acclaimed directors such as Pierre Van Pletzen, Neo Matsunyane and Heather Cooke. Her directorial debut was in 2011/12 on 7de Laan. In 2021, she was part of the Directing team of Ou Toppies (Dark Child Productions - SABC 2) and in 2022 she directs the film Dolla (Third Law Productions – KykNet / Showmax). Since 2024 she is a director on kykNET’s Suidooster and “Sewe” in 2025 is her first short film.
