Serenity Screenings will showcase movies of African Diaspora through Community Cinema.

We're inviting short & feature length movies, documentaries, animations and music videos makers to be part of the showcase throughout the summer in the Yorkshire City of Sheffield, UK.

Serenity Screenings will exhibit these events to audiences in local communities and attract fresh eyes to those not normally exposed to movies of African Diaspora.

Rules & Terms

Entrants must have movies produced / directed by black film makers.

Black performers must be in leading roles.

The showcase is oriented to align with global African Diaspora identities, therefore entrants must have emphasis on stories from these communities.

Content with languages other than English must have subtitles.

By submitting your content, you agree for Serenity Screenings to exhibit your content at one of our screening events. We may also use your promotional material on our website and social media platforms to promote and advertise Serenity Screenings events.

    At the beginning there was very good communication and a clear program of how the show was going to take place. Unfortunately, then they stopped writing and as far as I know they never screened our short film despite the selection.
