When two co-dependent, former high school sweethearts, separate after a decade of picturesque marriage, they find that self-discovery is awkward, chaotic, and inconveniently done solo.

Charlene Westbrook is an Actor turned Writer and Director. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised all over the western United States. It was this ever-changing landscape that gave her a love of storytelling. She is passionate about amplifying marginalized voices and dedicated to bringing unique perspectives to screen. "Separation" is inspired by her real-life experience.
Sasha Alcide was born in Washington, D.C. Born to Haitian parents she found herself firmly planted in both worlds. Narratives found in books, movies, and television would become a major way for her to first experience American life outside of her childhood home. She would go on to graduate with degrees in Political Science and Economics, intending to pursue a career in public service, but found the desire to make and share stories of her own undeniable. Formally only a writer, Sasha has expanded her craft to Directing and Producing with her inaugural offering “Separation”.
"Separation" is an original pilot based on a true story and features a culturally inclusive cast and crew. It serves as a proof-of-concept and it is part of a larger season already written by Sasha Alcide and Charlene Westbrook. They hope to make the series in its entirety.
