My personal experiences of fear and vulnerability in moments of solitude have profoundly influenced my vision for "Seeker." To this day, silence makes me uneasy. Through Morgan's journey, I hope to evoke a sense of shared vulnerability, making viewers reflect on the ways their environments shape their realities.
"Seeker" delves into the psychological complexities of fear and isolation, creating a narrative that mirrors the unsettling sensation of being trapped within one’s own life.
This dialogue-free horror film unfolds within the claustrophobic confines of an apartment, where a young woman named Morgan becomes the unwitting vessel for a demonic entity seeking escape. As the film progresses, the apartment transforms from a mere living space into a nightmarish realm, reflecting Morgan's internal struggles and the profound anxieties that come with being alone.
The decision to craft this story without any dialogue was inspired by the power of visual storytelling. By stripping away speech, I aimed to immerse the audience in a world where tension builds through subtle changes in the character's environment and mental state.
From the moment we see Morgan gazing out the window, her world is framed by the stark contrast between the bustling streets below and the oppressive silence of her apartment. Morgan's character embodies the internal battle many face when confronted with feelings of isolation and helplessness.
Influenced by classics like Possession and The Exorcist, "Seeker" explores supernatural elements alongside deeply human emotions, challenging perceptions of safety. The twist ending, akin to The Twilight Zone, leaves the audience reflecting on the absurdity of the demon’s plight—forever trapped in the very space it sought to escape.
