Julian Davis was born in Santa Monica in 1999. His passion for filmmaking began at the age of seven, when his father took him to the set of Pirates of the Caribbean. Julian wrote a letter to director Steven Spielberg at the age of eight, which led to a pen pal relationship. Since then, he has dedicated himself to storytelling through film and has produced a wide range of creative projects.
Working as a volunteer at the American Cinematheque deeply influenced my appreciation for cinema and sparked a passion for shooting on film. That tactile, analog quality I saw up on silver screen shaped how I approached shooting my latest project, See and Do Nothing.
While working on Season One of The Paper (Peacock, NBC) - I began developing See and Do Nothing alongside my longtime writing partner, Reese Kendrick, with whom I've been collaborating with since elementary school. The experience at Universal not only inspired aspects of the story, but also allowed me to connect with a talented crew, many of whom came on board to bring this project to life!
This film is the product of both long-standing creative relationships and a shared commitment to craft. I'm very grateful for everyone who I've met along the way.
