Director Statement

“SEASCAPE was shot in Cork and Kerry. I grew up in Dublin and it was only my second time visiting the area where my dad lived as a boy. With very few people out and about, the main company on the road was 'lucht ceithre chos' (the crowd with four feet)). Our Irish teacher at school once had us try to translate the poem Ar Cúl an Tí in class. Even when he told us the literal meaning of 'lucht ceithre chos', it took awhile before we understood Sean O'Riordain was talking about animals. In Seascape. once you get out of the rainy locked-down city, it is animals who seem to be running the show. And having all the fun.
