Director Biography - David Graham

I am a Scottish animator living and working in Finland. The absurdity of life is a loose theme running through my work. I treat serious subject matter in a light-hearted fashion, giving more weight, sympathy and emphasis to mundane issues.

I often react to societal and political absurdities in my work. In short, I am interested in creating a little world that is not too dissimilar to the one we live in; making the viewers laugh and see their everyday life in a new light.

I have an MFA degree from the USA and a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication from Scotland. I also attended a 3-month animation course at the University of the West of England. My films have been shown at Helsinki’s Animatricks International Animation Festival, Linoleum Contemporary Animation and Media Festival in the Ukraine and Spike & Mike's Gauntlet of Animation in the USA.
