Director Statement

Coming from a love of jazz and courtroom dramas, I decided to make “SCALES” as a 2nd Year Film Production project at university. Taking the golden, brown and brassy aspects of jazz and finding the similarities of it with a courtroom; a truly unexpected combination that works well.

This being my first time working with dialogue, and using only one location, having the performances of the actors tell the story; more so than any other aspect of filmmaking. That was my goal.
