Satori
Satori is a poetic and meditative portrait of a prisoner who discovers inner freedom within the confines of captivity. Clinging to a drawing from his daughter, he endures isolation and torment, sustained only by the hope of one day seeing her again. But as that hope begins to fade, he is confronted with a harrowing truth: he will never be free. In surrendering to this reality, he undergoes a sudden and profound awakening - a spiritual liberation known as Satori.

Emanuel began his career as a professional actor in Sweden, before making the transition behind the camera. Drawing on his understanding of performance and storytelling, he stepped into the director’s seat with his debut short film, Satori (2025), which marks his first entry into the festival circuit.
Hi, I’m Emanuel.
Satori marks my first step into directing, which is a personal and creative milestone. I hope this film serves as both a meaningful debut and a stepping stone toward bringing larger, more ambitious stories to life.
