There is nothing more powerful than a story told simply.
Jacob Pinger is a Los Angeles born, director and cinematographer with over twenty years of experience. From film to television, scripted and un-scripted, Jacob has developed his skills in a wide variety of venues.
His work has taken him around the world, from tracking orangutans in the jungles of Indonesia to interviewing Dogon elders in the deserts of Mali, and most recently to the sound stages of Hollywood.
After receiving a bachelors at the University of California at Santa Cruz, Jacob went on to attend the American Film Institute for cinematography. In 2010 he was honored as a recipient of the Emerging Cinematographers Award from IATSE, Local 600 for his work on the independent short film The Cycle.
In the years following AFI Jacob worked his way up the ladder, starting as a camera assistant, lighting technician and camera operator. He has worked on such well-known shows as Parks and Recreation, The Office and Brooklyn 99. Jacob currently works as the A-Camera Operator on the CBS comedy, Life In Pieces, which will be starting its fourth season this summer.
This spring Jacob was also privileged to be invited to shadow an established director for two episodes of the Freeform series, Alone Together. The Mingle, which marks Jacob’s fourth short film as a director, is a culmination of his many years working in television comedy, and his passion for telling simple, true to life stories.
