Writer Biography - Naman Gupta, Jordan Trippeer

NAMAN GUPTA
Naman Gupta is an award-winning director and writer. His films have screened at over 100 festivals, qualified for the Oscars, and won over 40 awards. His strong visual storytelling, shaped by his fashion background, extends into his narrative films, blending striking aesthetics with emotional depth. He was selected for Ryan Murphy's Half Initiative, shadowing on Fox Studio’s 9-1-1 TV series (starring Angela Bassett). He won the inaugural Tasveer Film Fund, was a finalist in BET’s Project CRE8TV (optioning his pilot to BET), and was a semifinalist for Indeed Rising Voices, NBCUniversal, and Warner Bros. Directors Initiative.

His short, COMING OUT WITH THE HELP OF A TIME MACHINE, starring Karan Soni (Deadpool), screened at over 70 festivals, including Tribeca and SXSW. It was requested for private screenings by Lockheed Martin, KPMG, McGill University, and Vanderbilt University. The Indian distribution rights were acquired by JioCinemas, and a feature version is in development.

His script SVARAK, was a finalist at the 1497 Lab and top 50 scripts out of 15,000 screenplays in the TCL competition and is TOP 3% script on Coverfly right now. It is currently with a top Hollywood studio producer, with Naman attached to direct. His Indian feature script VIKRAAL is currently being shopped to Indian studios with Naman attached to direct.

With a background in fashion photography, he has directed commercial spots for Swedish brand Olika, Caribbean cosmetics brand Clear Essence, LA-based fashion label FKSP, and spec spots for Versace and YSL.

JORDAN TRIPPEER
Jordan's writing focuses on characters struggling through immense darkness searching for the light. The world is an unfair place where suffering is often meaningless – she likes to put characters through hell, then properly reward them for their struggle, while entertaining the audience along the way. She has worked on projects for james franco and Indigenous Media, distributed by amazon and netflix. Her feature scent of Linden recently premiered at the Sofia International film festival and was selected for Cinequest. She has also been a project her filmmaker, a universal and Academy nicholl fellowship finalist, and her work has been featured on the hit List. Her first novel will be published in January of 2024. When not writing, she enjoys being a book goblin, rain connoisseur, khaki adventurer, and die hard theme park girl.
