Anthea is an award-winning director, dramaturg and Churchill Fellow. In 2018 Anthea was one of the inaugural women awarded through Create NSW #SheDirects. She was also supported through both Screen Australia’s Talent +, and Developing the Developer initiatives. Anthea worked in development at Causeway Films (The Babadook, The Nightingale) from 2017 to 2018 and is currently developing her first television series with Nakkiah Lui.
Anthea also works in theatre where she specialises in new work. Recent credits include Winyanboga Yurringa (Andrea James – Belvoir), Since Ali Died (Omar Musa – Griffin) and Hir (Taylor Mac – Belvoir). Since Ali Died won Best Cabaret at the Sydney Theatre Awards 2019 and Anthea was awarded Best Director of a Mainstage Production and Best Mainstage Production at the Sydney theatre Awards in 2018 for Hir.
