Sack Race With Knives: The Curious Art of Kevin Titzer
In this short film, join sculpture artist Kevin Titzer on a race against time. Tasked with creating a monumental art installation at the University of Southern Indiana’s Pace McCutchan Gallery, Titzer faces a daunting challenge with only two weeks on the clock. Returning to his hometown of Evansville, Indiana, Titzer's journey is captured by filmmaker Jordan Barclay. Witness the entire process as Titzer scours the local area for materials, then meticulously assembles the art installation, all while the countdown to completion ticks away.

Jordan Barclay, based in Southern Indiana, is a versatile photojournalist and commercial photographer/videographer. Each year, he undertakes a select number of commercial video projects and serves as a cinematographer for various film productions. He has earned recognition for his dedication over a broad range of media platforms such as photography, interactive media, and digital film production. Notably, his work as a Producer/ Director and Cinematographer won Best Director - Documentary at the Bare Bones International Film Festival. "Sack Race With Knives" was the only short film in this category, taking the top spot over other nominated feature length films.
Towards the end of my college career, I found my passion with creating micro-documentaries, showcasing the talents of local artists and their inspiring creations. Following 15 years of attempting to perfect my skills in commercial photography and video production, I yearned to produce another passion project featuring an artist that inspires me. My mission was not only to display the extraordinary artwork of Kevin, but also to give a glimpse of the individual behind the art. Fueled by the top creatives in the Evansville, IN area, I harnessed that collective energy to create a featured artist documentary, made by artists. It leaves audiences captivated and intrigued by the curious artwork of Kevin Titzer. All of my documentaries and commercial video projects have included local crew, artists and musicians.
