Director Statement

The tone and idea for STATIC STATE was very meaningful to me. Memories of having vivid nightmares and waking up to late night infomercials created an unsettling feeling that I really wanted to capture on film. In the last decade, I've been heavily inspired by artist-driven high concept horror stories from directors like Jordan Peele and Zach Cregger, and I hope to keep improving my skills to make something comparable to their films.

I wanted to show an idea that's been touched on before and take it in a direction that fully explores the concept, while also keeping it as a contained short story that doesn't overstay its welcome.
STATIC STATE is my first short film and it's something I'm extremely proud of, and I'm grateful for the amazing cast and crew that did an amazing job of making this idea come to life.
