SpaceBop
A fantastically fast fast paced sci-fi comedy with themes around communication, acceptance, and key message of never to underestimate the unassuming. Essentially, we aimed for Star Trek and accidentally made a kid version of Red Dwarf!

First time director, Callum is an experienced actor from Norfolk, England, with over 4-years experience of working with theatre and film productions, as well as supporting youth drama and film projects.
Over the past few years, he has helped coordinate and lead a number of youth projects in schools. One project Callum helped support as a performance director was the multi-award winning short film, "S.I. Superficial Intelligence".
As a trained actor and experienced educational practitioner, Callum has a fantastic understanding of knowledge of how to get the best from child performers, which has been showcased in a number of short films.
I was so excited to be asked to direct SpaceBop as I thought it was an amazing opportunity to build on the success and buzz of our previous short film (S.I.Superficial Intelligence) and also because I'm a massive fan of Sci-Fi and comedy...so this film was right up my street!
SpaceBop was a massive undertaking and I couldn't be prouder of what we managed to achieve. Every child had their role, both on and off screen, and they carried it out with energy, effeciency and adaptability of a professional film crew...but with a lot more silliness and giggles along the way.
We have taken huge strides forward with this film, in terms of new skills the children (and adults) have learn. Our little film studio is cooking on gas and we are starting a film revolution at Burnham Market Primary!
