Director Biography - Eli Joshua Adé

Born and raised in Florida, Eli Adé has been a force
in the film industry ever since he picked up a
camera. After almost a decade of working as crew on numerous big-budget TV and feature films, Eli understands set in a way that is hard to come by today. The first black photographer to win the Publicist Photographer Of The Year award in 2023, Eli’s award-winning composition and understanding of set make him an elite director. His ability to connect emotionally with actors along with his willingness to grow as a director, puts him in a talented group. Another strength of Eli’s is turning thoughts into words while being able to tell and write a compelling story. The overall talent and creativity Eli possesses is a result of hard work and dedication to his craft and love of cinema.

As a filmmaker, my mission is to visually engage and provoke thought in my audience, giving voice to the pressing issues that impact my community and highlighting the everyday experiences of individuals who share my background. I strive to illuminate narratives that are frequently overlooked, offering fresh perspectives on familiar themes.

In essence, I create films that resonate with me personally, aiming to portray people who look like me in a positive and empowering light. My goal is to challenge the status quo and expand the representation of our stories, ensuring that they are celebrated and seen in all their complexity and beauty.
