SMILE BIANCA!
In "Smile Bianca!" I am using an anthropological-like approach. I ask a couple of elders (my grandparents) to kiss.
After a few clumsy attempts, I interview them briefly.
Meaningful hints of reflection emerge from their instinctive and ironic answers.

I'm a director of photography, and avideoartist.
After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, I worked as fashion designer until 2003. At the same time, I deepened my artistic research focusing on cinema and visual arts.
In 2007 I graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. I then gained further experience for a few years as camera assistant, to work on several short movies, documentaries and movies as director of photography and camera operator. These were displayed at Cannes Film festival, Berlinale, Venice Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival.
I also been involved as a visual artist in many exhibitions, winning prize both in Italy and aboard. Some example are: Maxxi Museum Rome ARTAPES#3 double sceen; VideoArt YearBook, Bologna; 2015. Berlinale Talent Campus, 65° Berlin International Film festival; 91° young artist collective, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Palazzetto Tito, Venezia; Award Pitti Immagine IT’s Photo #7, Trieste
I started my artistic career as a photographer and performer. Then I put myself in front of my camera too. Becoming subject of my own work gave me great energy, I got on the stage. It was the performative aspect of contemporary photography that I like that led to me to love cinema.
Nowadays I bring on my research through videoart, cinema and documentaries.
Cinema and contemporary art, my two passions, penetrate and nourish each other becoming reciprocally indispensable.
