Director Statement

While searching for imagery for my music video SHOUT!, I discovered a remarkable early film in the public domain: Le Piano Irrésistible (1907) by Alice Guy. Watching it, I was struck by how modern it felt. The film bursts with the joy of music—people awakened from scenes of sluggish inertia suddenly begin dancing, waving, and spinning as the pianist plays. In many ways it resembles a club scene from another era, just without the lasers, haze, or electronics.
My own musical background is classical. For several years I performed as a professional oboist with an orchestra in Binghamton, New York. When I could no longer physically play the oboe, I began the transition into producing electronic dance music, enrolling in a series of courses and the advanced EDM Tips Accelerator program in the UK.
For me, music transcends genre and time. Whether Baroque dance forms or modern EDM, the goal is the same: music that moves people. SHOUT! was tremendous fun to create, and I hope it awakens that same joyful impulse to move.
