SHEILA

Sheila tells a story of a young woman (Sheila Bankole) who has successfully made a reputation for herself by being a pain and source of frustration to everyone that surrounds her, She’s rude, uncouth and mean but this distasteful personality is only a shield that hides a darkness from a distant past, a past she had managed to restrict to her daydreams and nightmares. It is a burden she carries heavily that has ultimately shaped her outlook on life in general.
Despite her numerous flaws, Sheila Bankole is a successful business woman, She has been able to create a “perfect little world” where she has ultimate control.
In the beginning of the film, Sheila Bankole has been unwell for a while and had been on medication but her hopes of getting better are dashed after she passes out at home and is subsequently diagnosed with Cancer. This news is on the heel of learning of her mother’s passing.
These are the events that shake her world and trigger other events that ultimately set her on a race against time.
This is a story about a woman who is on a journey to finding herself, re-discovering and re-evaluating the person she was, she is and is becoming.
It is not what you think it is. It is a lot more.
