SEKHMET
When an Autistic boy (Sam) discovers his unique ability to hear the unheard, after stealing an ancient Egyptian antique (Sekhmet) from a gift shop, that ended up cursing a family’s friend (Tabby). Tabby’s dream is becoming a mother. After her husband dies in his sleep as he triggered the curse as he killed a kitten on accident backing up in the parking lot. Shortly, she discovers the dark choking reality of her fetus.
The Lion headed Goddess, Sekhmet. Despite her healing and protective powers, she is destructive and retaliating. She’s the goddess of war and the destroyer of the enemies of Ra. The Bible, Torah, Quran, mortal weapons, even the Book Of The Dead, nothing can defeat her.
Dr. Benjamin “Sam’s psychiatrist”, Daveed “A Jewish Egyptian American, the antique gift shop’s owner” and Salma “Egyptian American and Daveed’s partner”, They all join Sam to stop Sekhmet from using Tabby’s mind to punish those who make bad choices.
Dr. Benjamin doesn’t believe in supernatural concepts. He believes that it’s all autism and the bullying Sam is exposed to at school. He teaches Sam to believe in himself and that true kindness is a choice not in weakness but in strength. After witnessing the logically impossible curse, things change for both him and Sam.
Daveed and Salma try different ancient religious and cultural approaches that are passed on from one generation to the other in dark areas in Egypt. When all fail, everyone gets together despite their differences.
Sekhmet uses Tabby’s mind the dream to kill and punish so they use hypnosis to join Tabby in her dream to stop Sekhmet and maybe save Tabby and the baby.
Sekhmet traps them along with the kids who bully Sam, Linda (Sam’s mom) and others in the dream with continues torture and pain. When she is reminded by Dr. Benjamin just like her sister (Bastat’s, a cat headed female goddess) used to say, “We don’t give up on humanity, despite the bad choices humans make.”. She then chooses not to kill them but to keep them trapped in an infinite pain and suffering inside the dream as she wakes up in Tabby’s body.
Tabby gains back control of her mind and body but not for long. This is not the end, it’s only the beginning. It’s not over yet, but who has the HEART and Will to defeat the CURSE of SEKHMET?!
