SBPCH - 1999 / 17:05 / Friend (feat. Thomas Mraz)

«SBPCH» (translated as The Largest Prime Number) is perhaps the most productive, inventive and changeable among the Russian bands of the new generation. Kirill Ivanov and his musicians regularly release new albums and constantly invent something about sounds, concerts or videos. This time «SBPCH» shot a full short film at once for three songs from their last album - "1999", "17:05" and "Friend".

"It does not matter from what point of view you will consider this video: the classic myth, childhood traumas, social and political overtones, domestic violence, patriarchy… It is important that the moment of changing the old is imprinted here. The moment when the past, devouring itself from within as a result of some act often bearing the pain and stress is replaced by the something new, uncertain, but very wide, free and pure. And, of course, all our experience tells us that this story will repeat in a circle. And the new will become old, will start to guzzle itself from within in the same way. But this very moment, like the kiss of the god! It has so much energy, so much emotion, so much life, so much all in a unit of time, that it is impossible not to be amazed of how difficult and beautiful everything is. So, if you feel bad then you need to change something. It will be difficult and painful for you. But you feel yourself not easy and not comfortable already. So don’t be scared. This video is about something like that.

Hope is everywhere and for everybody. But adults are extremely unattractive while trampling their children’s experiences inside of their own experiences. But we all understand that there are no bad and good adults. Because these adults were children, and in the same way someone also trampled their experiences. And honestly all the hope is just for adults. Because only they can grow adequate children. That's why on the penultimate frame mother says to the girl: "You are better and kinder than all." It does not matter whether it's in the girl's head or in reality. It is important that these are the words by which an adult teaches a child not to lose hope."
