The film director Anil Kumar is famously known by his screen name Anil. He grew up in a small town called Alappuzha in Kerala known for its backwaters. Anil had a love for making images from his imagination, photography, and writing creative and ruminative fiction from his childhood. This flair developed into script writing and directing. He completed his graduation and plunged into studying the know-how of Film making. He experimented with his skills by making documentaries and short films.
Anil made his directorial debut in 1989 with 'Ananda Vrithandam' in Malayalam. He has been active in the Malayalam Film Industry since 1989. Anil is dominated with passion rooted in an irresistible, burning attraction towards directing. He was instrumental in directing more than 40 feature films in his native Malayalam language. He has done a feature MAIYA (Hindi) in 2017
