Experiencing Interruptions?

Roktochaya

In a society that hides its darkest truths behind silence and respectability, a determined police officer begins investigating a series of disturbing crimes that seem unrelated at first. As she digs deeper, she realizes the violence is not random. Each case points toward a pattern buried beneath layers of fear, corruption, and social hypocrisy.

Her search leads her to a mysterious and deeply traumatized killer. But the more she uncovers about the killer’s past, the more the line between victim and criminal begins to blur. Behind every act of violence lies a history of abuse, neglect, and a society that chose to look away.

As the investigation unfolds, the officer is forced to confront uncomfortable truths about justice, morality, and the system she serves. The case becomes more than just catching a criminal. It turns into a journey into the hidden shadows of human nature.

Roktochaya is a psychological and social thriller that explores how trauma, silence, and societal cruelty can shape a person’s fate. In the end, the film asks a haunting question:
Who is truly guilty, the killer or the society that created the darkness within them?

Director Statement

Roktochaya was born from a question that has stayed with me for a long time: where does violence truly begin? Is it in the act itself or in the silent wounds that build up over years?

In our society, many forms of abuse remain hidden behind closed doors. They are normalized, ignored, or quietly accepted. This film is my attempt to bring those unseen realities into the light. I wanted to explore how trauma shapes a person, how pain transforms into something darker, and how the line between victim and perpetrator can become disturbingly blurred.

The character of the police officer represents more than just law enforcement. She stands as a voice of conscience, navigating not only a criminal investigation but also the moral contradictions within the system and society. Through her journey, I tried to question our collective responsibility. Are we merely observers, or are we also part of the silence that allows such stories to exist?

Visually and emotionally, I approached Roktochaya as an intimate yet unsettling experience. The film does not aim to provide easy answers. Instead, it invites the audience to confront uncomfortable truths and reflect on the deeper causes behind human behavior.

For me, Roktochaya is not just a story about crime. It is a story about pain, silence, and the consequences of looking away.
