Rocketship

Rocketship is a lyrical and empathetic portrait of Rocket Morgan, the eccentric caretaker of a crumbling industrial building in Wichita Falls, Texas—affectionately dubbed “the rocketship.” With his loyal dog Ops always close by, Rocket spends his days fixing, fiddling, cleaning, and transforming the space into something uniquely his own.

Equal parts charming and haunting, Rocketship offers a deeply human perspective on life at the margins, where resourcefulness and ritual become a kind of art. Rocket’s offbeat routines, philosophical tangents, and enduring dreams invite us to consider the value of lives often overlooked. Through intimate camerawork and longform observation, the film immerses viewers in Rocket’s world, honoring both its beauty and its disrepair.

An unforgettable ride in someone else’s shoes, Rocketship asks what it means to make a home in the wreckage—and what kind of future can be built by holding fast to dreams.
