Rockabill

Rockabill is a tiny island off the Dublin coast. No bigger than a football pitch, this extraordinary place is home to thousands of breeding seabirds. Most of the European population of the rare Roseate Tern breed on Rockabill thanks to a conservation project that began here 30 years ago. Every summer two wardens are entrusted by BirdWatch Ireland to live on Rockabill to monitor and protect these special seabirds. The wardens have replaced the lighthouse keepers of old as the only human residents on this isolated island. This documentary, written by Andrew Power, follows his experience with fellow-warden Brian Burke and the thousands of seabirds that make this island unique.
