Roadkill
The Girl has an awkward conversation with her boyfriend, The Guy, as he drives them to a party. When “their song” comes on, The Guy becomes distracted and accidentally kills an animal on the road. Rather than checking on The Girl or the animal itself, he continues driving. This sends The Girl into an anxious, dissociative trance for the majority of the party, where she is reminded by her roommate of how connected they used to be and overwhelmed by The Guy’s friends. After a lamp crashes, she runs to the bathroom where she's comforted by her friend, Maria. Now having snapped out of her trance, she leaves the party in The Guy's car and returns to the roadkill.

Grace Sullivan moved to Philadelphia four years ago to study film at Temple University, crewing on a feature film that first summer and using the adrenaline rush to propel her straight into her directorial debut short Roadkill sophomore year. Grace thinks the most powerful stories start from something real and centers her work on female protagonists. As a queer woman, she makes purposeful decisions in all her directorial projects to seek other women from diverse backgrounds in head roles. She wrapped up her second narrative short, Time To Tango, earlier this year during her semester abroad in Prague and is currently directing a documentary concerning environmental issues in Philadelphia. Grace’s passion lies with the written word, her Southern hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, her ever-supportive friends and family, and oat milk in her coffee. Always.
