In the heart of Ukrainian Polissia, the river Stokhid cuts through Volyn lands. Its numerous riverbeds form an intricate network with hundreds of channels and deceptive dead ends.
The kayak group goes to the river labyrinths, surrounded by intact Polissia nature and meets the tragic heritage of the past. Unexpected discoveries are expecting the travelers.
The green alleys of riverbeds immerse into the depths of history, captivate the travelers thoughts, who return again and again to the river maze in search of its secrets.

Director Biography - Sergii Trofymchuk

Sergii Trofymchuk was born in 1988 in the town of Shepetivka, Ukraine. He obtained his higher education on architecture at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. He shows big interest in making photos and videos of wildlife. In 2015, he launched the serial "Rivers of Ukraine". In 2018 the TV channel "Fauna" hosted premiere show of the first movies "Rivers of Ukraine. Teteriv " and "Rivers of Ukraine. Stokhid. Part I", at the moment the work with the serial is being continued.

Director Statement

The primordial nature of Ukrainian Volyn, abandoned villages and sounds of history get lost in the river Stokhid riverbed wickerwork. Hundreds of waterway kilometers with nature alone and video camera bring to unexpected discoveries.
