Rising In Love

This is an Indian middle class drama. Divya is an unmarried mother who is raising her child by herself. She is getting forced by her parents to marry any man for the sake of completing her family, as they have faced backlash from orthodox society. After having a bad experience from past wedding proposals, she has started believing that every marriage proposal approaching her is due
to some complusion. But as the story unfolds, she meets a man that will change her belief and make her feel love again.

Director Biography - Sagar Gusain

Sagar Gusain has a background in theatre, which brought him to the world of filmmaking. He freelances as a production manager for films being shot in Uttarakhand. He has involved in Many projects like, Advertisements, Short Films and also Worked as the assistant for the Documentaries, Docu-dramas, TVC.

Director Statement

With prior experience in making some short films, I gained confidence to develop this story into a feature length film. This is a story inspired by a real incident that happened around me which made me think of multiple perspectives of society I am living in, back story and emotional journey of the person facing such situations.
I was fortunate enough to have trust and support of my creative friends by working as cast and crew for this film. The story is based in Dehradun, our hometown, so we were aware of all the small elements and organic nature we had to portray. With all the costumes, properties, locations and surroundings we tried to create patterns and metaphors. This is a story of little hopes we live with to face all the daily struggles of our lives and eventually reaching our hopes and achieving the mental comfort.
