Director Biography - Dean Wellman

Dean Wellman is an Iowa film maker, owner and operator of Highway 11 Films based out of Dubuque, IA. He produces feature films, short Films, music videos, experimental pieces and animations. Most of his work revolves around music and he's specialized in live music performances and live audio recording since 2003.

His feature documentary/concert movie "Tall Corn Euforia" was officially selected to the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival and screened April 4-7 2013 in Dubuque, IA.

His short film/music video "The Spirit of Crazy Horse" was officially selected to the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival and screened in April of 2015 in Dubuque, IA.

His short film "Valley of Vengeance" won best sound design in the 2011 Madison 48 hour film festival.

His short film "The Industry of Nature" won a best animation and special effects award at the Griffin film festival 2009.

He was an editor on "Striking Out" a short film, which won a best acting award in the 2009 Madison 48 hr film festival.

He was involved as an editor and sound design tech on "Special Delivery" which won best use of genre in the 2010 Madison 48hr film festival.
