Richard Bethea is a filmmaker, writer, and creative from High Point, NC. Richard received his B.A in Cinema and Screen Studies from SUNY Oswego. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in Television, Radio and Film from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. He also worked as an Instructor’s Associate at Syracuse University. Richard is a proud Army veteran.
Richard joined the Army as a Cable and Wire Installer Maintainer. During his twenty-year career, Richard was stationed in Korea; Germany; Afghanistan; NC; GA; NY; & WA. In 2004, during his first deployment, Richard was awarded the Bronze Star. Rich deployed again in 2007, 2009, and 2013. In 2007 before leaving Germany, he discovered his calling for filmmaking and dedicated himself to studying the business and art of filmmaking for the next ten years.
Richard is married with four children and currently resides in Carthage, NY.
