Director Statement

The film focuses on the life and work of comedian and writer Roberto Nield, who has a strong religious identity. From beginning to end, the cross stands as a powerful visual symbol that permeates the entire narrative. Drawing inspiration from Tarkovski's films, light plays a crucial role in the documentary's aesthetics, creating evocative atmospheres that emphasize the character's introspection and his relationship with the divine. Additionally, the film aims to showcase Nield's close connection to his neighborhood and the popular culture, delving into the exploration of the elements (fire, water, air, and earth) that make up the origin, adding a metaphorical and poetic dimension to the film.
