Director Statement

Growing up I always dreamed of being an actor because I wanted to escape from my day to day life. I aspired to be like the actors who transformed and became unrecognizable in their appearance, voice and delivery. However, as I got older I began seeing that it wasn’t about escaping from yourself into the character but finding the character within yourself.

Personally, I had all these bottled up emotions and stories that I was too scared to tell. Until I realized, if I am the character it's not because I’m a bad actor who can’t transform, it’s because I’m a great artist willing to be vulnerable.

‘Rest In Memories,’ follows a man named George, who after the sudden death of his Aunt, who raised him as her own, looks to find answers in the first gift she ever gave him, a stuffed animal of ‘Curious George.’

I made this film in loving memory of my Aunt who may not have raised me but did indeed bless me with this gift. My hope is that this film can help people be vulnerable and find their faith while navigating their grief in a way that is healthiest and safest for them.
